Six members of AFJ’s Study Team visit Washington, D.C. Philadelphia and Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

連邦議会上下両院議員（5名）と個別の意見交換を行いました。

AFJ’s Study Team meets two U.S. Senators and three U.S. Congressmen respectively at the Capitol Hill.

ティーパーティー運動の主要団体であるフリーダムワークス（FW）とのワンデイミーティングを実施しました。

AFJ and FreedomWorks (FW), a principal organization involved with the Tea Party movement, have a one-day meeting at the FW’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. More than ten members of FW including Mr. Matt Kibbe, CEO, and Mr. Adam Brandon who AFJ invited to Japan last January, join the meeting. Also, a prominent columnist Mr. John Fund and famed political analyst Mr. James Lucier join the evening session.

Three members of AFJ’s Study Team join one of regular meetings of Kitchen Table Patriots(KTP). KTP is a local Tea Party group based in Backs County, Pennsylvania.

2011年7月　AFJと中国現代国際関係研究院（CICIR）は、第22回AFJ-CICIR日中シンポジウム「3.11後の日中関係−新たな戦略対話の始まり」を開催しました。また、両機関は新たな対話枠組みとなる「AFJ-CICIR日中戦略・経済対話」に関する覚書に調印しました。

Asian Forum Japan (AFJ) and China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR) hold the 22nd Japan-China Symposium, “The Japan-China Relations after 3/11” in Tokyo. Ahead of the symposium, AFJ President Kin-ichi Yoshihara and CICIR Vice President Ji Zhiye sign an agreement to establish Japan-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue.

Judis and Mr. Bradford Plumer, attend the seminar as panelists. More than one hundred parsons from media, government, business and academia participate in the seminar.

An annual anthology of essays Nippon-no Ronten 2011 (or The Issues for Japan 2011) , where AFJ President Kin-ichi Yoshihara writes on US-China relations, is published. Nippon-no Ronten, first published in 1992, is Japan’s first and best-selling comprehensive anthology of essays on nearly 100 contentious issues.

Vernon Clark and Mr. Charles Shaw III, Executive Director. Gen. Burt Mizusawa and other defense specialists join the workshop which is about the future of Japan-US alliance.

Under an AFJ project “The Japan-US Exchange to Develop Policy Intellectuals,” Keiichi Hori has several meetings with conservative policy intellectuals in Washington, D.C. He also visits The New Republic magazine, and discuss with its senior editors, John B. Judis and Noam Scheiber, about the US midterm election and the future of Obama’s presidency.

創設30周年を迎えた中国現代国際関係研究院（CICIR）と、第21回目となるAFJ-CICIR日中シンポジウムを北京にて開催しました。

In Beijing, China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR) and AFJ hold the 21st Japan-China Symposium, “Kan Administration and the Japan-China Relations.” Ms. Tomoe Kiyosada, Senior Science and Technology Policy Analyst of SRI International, joins the symposium as a special guest. CICIR, one of the leading think tanks in China, marks its 30th anniversary this year.

In commemoration of 50th anniversary of the renewal of the Japan-US Security Treaty, Asian Forum Japan (AFJ) and Hudson Institute hold a luncheon meeting with US national security specialists and former high-ranking government officials, including Ambassador Tom Foley, Former Attorney General Mr. Michael Mukasey, Former DOD Executive Mr. Richard Parle, Former Under Sec. of Defense Mr. Douglas Feith. AFJ also has meetings respectively with Honorable John Kyl, US Senate Minority Whip, and Mr. Stuart Levey, Under Sec. of Treasury.

Asian Forum Japan (AFJ) is placed 2nd among 108 Japanese think tanks, and 18th among more than 1000 Asian think tanks in the latest 'Global "Go-To Think Tanks" ' survey. The survey, launched by Dr. James G. McGann at the University of Pennsylvania, is a comprehensive and authoritative ranking of the world's leading think tanks. AFJ has been ranked in the survey for the third year in a row.

AFJ is ranked 3rd in Japan and 12th in Asia among leading public policy research organizations in the world by Pennsylvania University's 'Think Tank and Civil Societies' program.
